The vast majority of keta salmon are net-caught as they approach streams and near the end of their lives. In contrast, our Alaska Gold wild keta salmon are caught on hook and line and, by definition, these salmon are actively feeding, and therefore at the peak of their quality. Being line-caught, they are also well taken care of on the boat by the fishermen rather than sitting for long periods of time in big nets. The difference in being line-caught cannot be underestimated. Line-caught wild keta salmon is exceedingly rare, making up less than one percent of keta salmon harvested. These are special fish!

    This was my first order keto salmon and it is the freshest best tasting salmon I’ve ever eaten. I needed a safe protein source while dealing with a histamine intolerance issue. The difference between the wholesale club frozen wild salmon portions and this product is like night and day. When I stopped consuming the wholesale club wild frozen salmon the histamine reactions went away. I have experienced zero histamine reactions from this delicious fish!

  • Thanks for the inquiry! The only ingredients in the package is wild keta salmon. We do not include any other ingredients like sodium triphosphate to our fish. They are blast frozen and vacuum-sealed.

    I don’t see an ingredients list here. Can you please tell me the ingredients in the package? Does this package contain sodium triphosphate like most other Frozen wild caught salmon products do?

    Light, delicate and tastes pleasingly of the ocean in the way good fish should. Much lighter feel than other salmon I’ve had from other companies . Tastes like it was handled with car. We baked at 375 F for 12 minutes with minimal seasoning and it was perfect. Great fish!

    First off, as everyone can attest, this is the best quality fish around. I noticed there are no directions as to how to cook from frozen, so here it is: 450F oven. Season frozen fish and cover. For 1 portion, bake for 15min. For 2 portions, bake for 20 minutes. Uncover. For 1 portion, continue baking for 9 min. For 2 portions, continue baking for 12 min. Remove from oven and let it rest a couple of minutes. Also, despite what the FAQ says, NEVER thaw your fish (or any meat) on the counter. This is coming from someone who is certified in food safety.

    I was so impressed with my delivery from Alaska Gold! The price per lb for 20 lbs of the Keta Salmon was the same as my local BJ’s, but the comparison was night and day! I learned it was the difference between net caught and line caught. I will never buy salmon from a wholesale club like BJ’s ever again! Alaska Gold salmon is 5 stars!! The quality and taste is amazing!!! I highly recommend!

    The first time we got the keta salmon portions I cooked them up with a really simple recipe. I baked them up plain at 400F for 9 minutes. When done I sprinkled some seasoning salt on top and served with a pasta dish. Cooked, they look almost like a white fish like halibut–just a very gentle pink coloring. The taste was a nice blend of mild, moist and delicate. Like the combination of a halibut and salmon. The keta salmon is also like halibut in flavor—not quite as meaty, but really delicate with subtle undertones of pleasant salmon. These keta salmon portions would pair well with other dishes in which you would use halibut or other white fish. We decided to go ahead and order 20 pounds to fill our freezer and feed the family. With the bulk order, it’s a great price for wild salmon that tastes great and is nourishing!
